HISTORY OF LEACH’S TOOLS
Founded in Great Britain in the early 1900s as a business that supplied tools, ironmongery and hardware, Leach’s depended on word of mouth to grow their business. Over time, they became known as specialist suppliers of scaffolding tools with scaffolders from across the country entering Leach’s New Cross, London store to purchase the Leach’s Spanner. This is much like the popularity of the Leach’s Long Life Hex Box Spanner in 7/16″ Poker Style available from SafeSmart Access today.
During the second World War, Leach’s opened three more shops within London to give every scaffolder the opportunity to buy their scaffolding tools from Leach’s. By the time the owner retired in 1999, Leach’s was offering a range of over 40 scaffolders’ spanners, leather belts and frogs. Leach’s has become the exclusive UK distributors of both the Nailspan® and IMN® professional range of scaffolding tools and the expanding range of BIG BEN® products.
