SCAFFOLD REDUCTION AUDITS

Scaffolding is a necessary part of any mining project, but it doesn’t have to break the bank.

At SafeSmart, we understand the complexities of running onsite shutdowns and maintenance tasks. It is through this experience that we can identify cost savings and areas for improvement around your current access scopes through our tried-andtrue scaffold reduction audit system.

Our scaffold reduction audits include a complete onsite review of existing scaffolding structures that would be better suited for an ergonomic fit for purpose work platform.

Onsite tasks are reviewed with the site teams, with all facets taken into account to be able to put forward a suitable alternative solution. SafeSmart aim to reduce your scope for scaffold works onsite by identifying areas of improvement and increased efficiencies.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF COMPLETING A SITE AUDIT?

Decrease in contract load – shrink your subcontracting requirements to only complex access applications completed by scaffolding.

Reduced onsite risk – less manual labour and staff outlay to subcontractors.

Decreased scaffold builds – fewer scaffolding structures means reduced on-site tonnage.

Improved work processes – simplified & optimised access and installation methodologies.

Foster leaner crews – Reduce what would be a 3–4-person job to a 1–2-person job.

HOW IT WORKS

SIMPLE 4-STEP PROCESS

1. We engage with on-site teams, including Superintendents and Supervisors.

2. Inspect and audit of existing scaffold structures.

3. Review current operations and traffic on-site.

4. Provide an evaluation and identify solutions, tailored to your needs.

By taking site constraints and conditions into consideration, Safesmart will provide a practical tailored solution through a work platform or alternative access system, that will be suited to the work area.

Following the review, the site team will be presented with a proposal that outlines each area and scaffolding structure that has been identified through the audit and a direct alternate solution, whether it be a made-to-order design or an off the shelf solution.

The solutions presented will account for possible space constraints, whilst providing efficient access without compromising safety, budget or ease of manual handling.
