THE CHALLENGE:
Lend Lease were facing a high level of down-time based on the necessity for workers to evacuate the core while the floor was lifted. In addition there was no safe back up plan for egress in case of emergency for workers on the core which was located 3.8Mtrs from the floor.
THE SOLUTION:
SafeSmart’s design team produced a custom portable Jump Form stair that would adjust in height as the floor lifted. This provided a safe evacuation for workers in the event of an emergency. Fully meshed sides provided added protection and prevented tools falling from the temporary stairway.
THE RESULT:
Workers on the Barangaroo site are able to safely remain on the core as the “Jump” is underway, allowing them to continue their work, reducing downtime.
