New Cromwell Location Uses Proscaf Aluminium In Its Construction

SafeSmart Access’ new Southern Distribution Centre is due to open in early November for the convenience of our customers located from Christchurch south. The purpose-designed facility at 9 Venning Crescent, Cromwell will replace our former Christchurch site. The new building – comprising offices, warehousing and a fully stocked yard, was constructed with the use of Proscaf Aluminium, erected by the local crew at Ultimate Protection.

Ultimate Protection’s director, Connor McIntosh reported that his team of scaffolders enjoyed working with the lighter aluminium system.

“The crew were surprised at how much quicker and less fatiguing the aluminium system was to install. At one stage our apprentice had six 4m standards (8 stars) on his shoulder moving around the site. The crew were in hysterics as the apprentice would usually struggle with two”.

Mr McIntosh estimates that the job, installed using Proscaf Aluminium was completed in half the time it would take with a similar steel system.

Proscaf Aluminium for Medium Duty Installations

While the original steel range of Proscaf is approved for heavy-duty applications up to 30m, the lighter weight aluminium range is certified for medium-duty up to 20m which provides a greater return on investment for lower-level installations. All in all, aluminium Proscaf is quicker to erect, demands less wear and tear on the workers, allows more components to be transported on a truck, and provides easier access to challenging sites – saving time and money in construction.

SafeSmart Access ceased operations at the previous Christchurch location on the 7th November and opened for business in our new Central Otago location on 12th November.

Be sure to visit our new Cromwell yard, located at 9 Venning Crescent. Fully stocked with Proscaf in both steel and lightweight aluminium.
