SafeSmart Wellington Officially Opens For Purchase Or Hire

While SafeSmart Access’s Wellington yard has been operating since May of this year, Branch Manager, Ashley Whitehouse (Ash) – known for his meticulous nature – was keen to get the yard well-stocked and running with absolute military precision before the day of the big reveal.

The official opening took place on one of those ‘can’t beat Wellington’ days on Friday 2nd of November 2018 - a year, almost to the day, following the opening of SafeSmart’s Auckland yard.

Around 60-70 scaffolding and construction company customers from the greater Wellington area, as well as some from Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough, joined the SafeSmart team at the Grenada North yard to celebrate the opening.

The official part of the day took place on SafeSmart’s own SwiftStage, with the ribbon ceremoniously cut by Jessica Pritchard, the General Manager of Scaffolding, Access & Rigging NZ (SARNZ).  Jessica also helped us to draw the winner of a Parrot Bebop Quadcopter Drone, which Nick Warren from Wellington Scaffolding was lucky enough to take home with him.

Guests were kept fed and watered with the delicious fare from Wilson’s Barbeque complimented by one of the harbour city’s favourite local brews, Tuatara Beer – all enjoyed at the Proscaf bar-leaners!

Start of the SafeSmart Show

While enjoying the food and beverage, and between shooting B-Ball hoops, guests leisurely wandered around the yard to view the growing range of scaffolding tools, equipment and accessories available from SafeSmart.  Some of the newer products attracting interest included SafeSmart’s line of event-related products – all available for hire or purchase:

Safesmart's new yard and showroom, just 14km North of Central Wellington, just off State Highway 1, enables the NZ-owned company to be more responsive to the service.

“It's important that we are close to where the construction industry is strong,” says SafeSmart Account Manager, Tony Person, “and with the hilly landscape often presenting access challenges for Wellington scaffolders, a nearby source of Proscaf Aluminium has proven very convenient.”

Indeed, Wellington scaffolders are increasingly taking advantage of the benefits of Proscaf Aluminium. With a medium duty rating of up to 30m, the lightweight alternative to the original steel Proscaf not only saves money on transport and installation but is versatile for a wide range of applications and available directly from the Wellington yard for purchase or hire.

Big thanks to our Wellington and top of the South customers who attended this event and helped celebrate this latest milestone in style. Ash and Brad look forward to seeing you again soon at the SafeSmart Access Wellington yard at 52 Takapu Road, Grenada North, or contact us today for information.
